This work is devoted to project management office assessment and its functions improvement. The aim of this work is to develop a methodology of identifying key project office functions that have the greatest impact on project’s results.Within this work the following tasks were done:·        Content-analysis of scientific literature on the functioning of the Project office was made;·        Functions of the Project Office were considered;·        Project management office functions assessment methodology was developed;·        Project management office functions were assessed with developed methodology;·        Project management office improvements have been proposed.Content analysis of scientific literature shows that a large number of works devoted to the organization project management maturity assessment, project management office assessment isn’t considers. Basic project management office functions considers in the nonfiction in details, but every project management office has a unique number of functions. To choose the right list of these functions is the main task for senior managers. Project management office standing order should be revised with periodicity.The author gives a description of project management office improvement process, which consist of three stages: 1) Project Management Office assessment; 2 ) Project Management Office funtions correction; 3) New standing order approbation;Project Management Office assessment model is based on organization’s standing order and was developed by the author and this model was also applied in Moscow government IT-Department. During the assessment all project management office functions were divided into groups:1.       Scheduling2.       Project meetings3.       Regular reporting4.       Projects’ KPI5.       Risks6.       Information system7.       Documents’ turnoverDuring the assessment twenty project managers were interviewed and the results obtain two estimates, first shows the quality project office function, and the second reflects the impact of function on project result. Main combinations of these estimates were described and reasons were considered.Assessment results were analyzed carefully and core problems were identified. To eliminate this problems list of project management office functions changes was developed and the process of implementing was described.
