Organization of private investment attraction in Russian regions (comparative analysis)

<p>In the thesis the author examines the problem of the differentiation of the regions of the Russian Federation in terms of investment activity. The peculiarities of inter-regional distribution of investments, examines the factors that determine the investment attractiveness of regions. The author highlights the need of softening the current imbalances.</p><p>The increasing differences in socio-economic development of regions encouraged to seek the causes of these gaps. Along with the obvious regional differentiation conditioning industry investment activity factors, the institutional aspect of this process plays an important role.</p><p>Region inhomogeneity affects their development and Russia as a whole. It is necessary to take actions aimed at identifying the main ways to reduce financial differentiation of regions.</p><p>The purpose of this research is to develop recommendations for the organization of work in the subjects of the Russian Federation to improve efficiency and effectiveness of private investment attraction. To achieve the goal author set the following tasks:</p><p style="margin-left:.25in;">&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Analysis of investment management tools and investment stimulation problems.</p><p style="margin-left:.25in;">&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Data collection of the investment attraction activities in Russian regions.</p><p style="margin-left:.25in;">&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Assessment of the Russian regions experience in investment attraction and identification of key factors of investment policy effectiveness.</p><p style="margin-left:.25in;">&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Recommendation development of activities in Russian regions to &nbsp;successfully attract investment.</p><p>To implement the tasks author considered the articles of Russian and foreign experts on the topics: the private investment attraction activities; the information of the use of tools for increasing the investment attractiveness and development institutions in Russian regions were collected; comparative analysis of regions with high and low values of the investment per capita was conducted</p><p>As a part of the study, the author concluded that some of the tools used everywhere, but time-consuming and expensive tools, such as industrial parks and SEZs are used in regions with high investment flow.</p><p>Despite the large number of different ratings and evaluation of Governors work by integral index of investment attractiveness, the differentiation of regions amplified by the continuing growth of investment flow in successful regions. However, it can be argued that knowledge of the authority representatives in this questions raises, and they pay attention to the approach to work for private investment attraction.</p><p>Thus, the author argues about the relevance of this master&rsquo;s thesis and considers it is necessary to further research of the approach to the organization of work for private investment attraction in Russian regions as one of the most important drivers of economic development and living standards of the country in the near future.</p>
