There are a significant number of different methods for measuring trust, they are constantly evolving, and new approaches for measuring trust appear. Nevertheless, empirical research for identifying the impact of the choice of a particular method of measuring trust on the results of a study practically did not performed (except Glaeser E, Laibson D., Scheinkman J., Soutter S. "Measuring trust"), although the characteristics of the various methods can be one of the factors that influence.

The aim of this work was the comparison of the major approaches to the measuring of trust. Formulated theoretical, methodological and empirical problems to achieve this goal were the following:

Theoretical tasks:

1. systematize approaches to the understanding of the term "trust."

2. systematize the main approaches for measuring trust.

Methodological tasks:

1. Select method of measuring trust that would be compared.

2. Select the methods of collecting data that allow comparative analysis of methods for measure trust.

Empirical tasks:

1. Describe the level of trust of respondents to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, obtained by selected methods of measuring.

2. Estimate sensitivity of the results of the application of methods for measuring trust in the subsamples of respondents divisible by gender, age and political preferences.

3. Identify the connection between levels of trust measured by the investigated methods.

4. Classify interaction styles respondents with questions of cognitive analysis of the questionnaire instrument in the questionnaire.

5. Classify understanding of questions of measuring trust.

6. Describe the features of questions that respondents assessed as "complicated".

7. Describe systematically the "voice" of the respondents.

Methodological basis of research includes sources that describe the use of certain methods of measuring trust, modification of existing methods and development of new ones. Furthermore, there are also included studies based on the investigation of trust. All of the above descriptions of measuring methods of trust were used to formulate the basic approaches to the measurement of this phenomenon.

This study used a target nonprobabilistic sample, respondents were selected by the method "snowball". To calculate the sample size was used Rukavishnikova formula, developed for target groups. The parameters that were used to calculate sample are age and gender. As a result, the recommended sample size was about 120-200 people. For the study was collected in a sample volume of 205 people.

Data was collected by methods of questionnaire and cognitive interview. For more in-depth analysis of the differences between the compared methods was applied method of cognitive analysis of the questionnaire instrument that was entirely dedicated to the cognitive interview, the questionnaire for this analysis corresponded questions about how respondents understand some judgments and task issued reformulation texts of questions.

This study conducted a general description of the test methods for measuring trust through measures average trends and variability. Dispersion analysis allowed estimate the correlation between age, gender and political preferences of the respondents and their level of trust to the pre
