Analysis of Comment Graphs in Online Communities

<p>This paper addresses the task of online community structure analysis. The definition of a comment graph, a convenient representation of users interaction for blog analysis, is proposed. An overview of existed methods is given as well as the new graph characteristics that allow describing interaction of users in comment graphs. The online community analysis techniques and the method of blog users profiling based on user behavior are presented. All the methods were applied to the data set from Russian it-blog Habrahabr. The results of data set analysis proved hypothesis about blogs structure and also allowed to infer eight types of behavioral patterns of online community users.</p><p>Key words: graph analysis, online community structure analysis, users profiling.</p>
