Introduction of the corporate project management system to the company

<p style="margin-left: 14.2pt; text-align: justify;">Current work touches upon the problem of project management efficiency improvement by implementation of the organizational project management system (OPMS) using the case of the SRI Gazeconomica. This paper examines theoretical aspects of OPMS development and compares existing approaches to this procedure in different organizations. The primary aim of this research is to work out a number of methodological recommendations for development and introduction of the corporate project management system into the SRI Gazeconomica, according to the projects&rsquo; orientation and project management problems.</p><p style="margin-left: 14.2pt; text-align: justify;">The study is divided into 2 main parts. The first one presents theoretical basis for further empirical research. Secondary data for this chapter was collected from different sources of information, such as Russian and foreign scientific articles, monographs, guides and tutorials, international project management standards, as well as Internet sources like consulting companies websites and Internet forums, devoted to this area. Paralleling of various approaches and opinions about boosting productivity of project management through adopting OPMS, resulted into the list of typical mistakes, common for projects of OPMS implementation. Methods of risks reduction are also provided.</p><p style="margin-left: 14.2pt; text-align: justify;">Methods of gathering and analyzing primary data were applied to carry out the empirical research. Firstly, at the phase of the SRI Gazeconnomica&rsquo;s project activity investigation, organizational project management maturity was assessed by carrying out a survey among scientific personnel. Secondly, peculiar properties of the organizational culture were identified. Finally, in-depth interviews aimed at more deep understanding of some specific questions devoted to existing managerial techniques and problems were conducted.</p><p style="margin-left: 14.2pt; text-align: justify;">The main results of the investigation consists of recommendations for working-out methodology, organizational structure and project management office (PMO) design, informational project management system (IPMS) engineering and project management motivation system development, adopted for the SRI Gazeconomica. That is more, rational step by step strategy of system&rsquo;s implementation was proposed.</p>
