Currently, the number of cars on the streets of our city increases; hence the demand for them is growing accordingly. At all times the car has been and remains a popular means of transportation. Now a huge number of people are buying cars, and for this there are many reasons. The most important reason is that used cars much cheaper than new. The surest and quickest way to sell a car - sell it at secondary market, and for this it is necessary to evaluate the cost of the car.

To assess the value of the object, there are two basic methods of estimation: regression analysis and neural technologies. In this paper we will consider both of these methods and a comparison is made at the end.

The aim is to choose the optimal method for solving the problem of valuation of the used cars. For this work the results of the study of various approaches to forecasting the example of forecasting the cost of cars with mileage on the Russian market.
Structure of an introduction, four chapters, conclusions, bibliography and applications.
The first chapter presents the results of domain analysis, which included the study of the Russian market of used cars, mathematical methods of valuation of property, the existing Russian and European systems of valuation used cars. Just the result of the analysis have become the business process model "Valuation car" represented in diagrams methodology Aris.

The second chapter presents a theoretical part of the work, which shows the two main methods of valuation used cars.

In the third chapter displayed the practical part of the work carried out describing the development of models to predict the value of used cars based on neural network and regression approach. It shows an example of the interface, which is based on selecting the optimal method for solving a given problem
In conclusion, the findings presented by the work done.
