Does Top-Management Matter for an Enterprise?

<p>This paper looks into the link between company financial performance and top-management&#39;s observable and hidden characteristics. Gender diversity among the Board of Management, age, education and qualifications of the CEO, and combined ownership and managerial control over the company, all were evaluated in their impact on corporate financial performance. The research concludes that the causal relationship stems from managerial characteristics, which which are found to determine financial outcomes, but the opposite is not true.</p>
