Definitively established in the era of the crisis of socialism culture feast, however, bears the stamp of the whole historical development of the nation. Timeframe selected based on the fact that at this time, the Soviet society achieves stability and relatively high standard of living.

The author is focused on the phenomenon of urban feasts, as it is urban feast, unlike in the village, has a large variety due to greater interaction of different cultures in the city. In the village cuisine was more traditional and less absorbed by the innovations of catering and culinary traditions of the other republics. And the author considered public feast as it had more features in an urban environment.

The purpose of this study is to identify the features of Soviet feast, as a socio-psychological phenomenon characterizing the atmosphere and living conditions of people in the late USSR.

The tasks assigned to the researcher:

- On the basis of the material more fully explore the features of the Soviet feast 1970s;

- To analyze the sources of Soviet traditions and forms a drinking culture;

- To reveal the originality of the Soviet legacy in this particular page of Soviet culture;

- Systematize economic and social prerequisites for the formation of the ideal image of the Soviet feast, as a cultural phenomenon;

- To determine the place-dinner traditions in general complex socio-cultural world of Soviet man in 1970 - years.

Sources for the study was the work of authors like the second half of the 20th century (analytical, sociological and culinary), and scientific works of the 2000s. Being deprived from examples European traditions of "wealthy" life, many of our citizens were designed on the basis of their own ideas about beauty. "Washout" of even basic products of the number available to the masses led to the impoverishment of the table, attempts to construct a new, supposedly "rich" nature of the available tools.

• Despite the declared uniformity of Soviet society in the cultural feast was great geographical differentiation. And social differences in a drinking culture were revealing: the quality and style of human nutrition then mainly determined by its place in society, the degree of approximation to the different social groups.

• Extremely high is the role of various books, magazines, calendars and other printed materials, published in the USSR

• In contrast to the home, public feast was more ideological, reflecting the tradition of collective thinking and follow the model of "socio-approve" of human behavior.
