The Engagement of Higher Education Institutions of Moscow Region in Regional Development

The investigation carried out is dedicated to the current impact of 6 regional institutions of higher education in Moscow Region on its socio-economic development. The hypothesis of the research is connected with the idea of the regional education institutions’ exact influence on socio-economic development of Moscow Region. According to the tasks raised the up-to-date international and Russian experience of universities’ assessment and influence on regional development is being investigated in this research. The current models of the corroboration between higher education institutions and stakeholders and modern trends of universities’ integration into socio-economic development of the region given are being analyzed. The selection of the model’ assessment of “regionally engaged university” used in the evaluation process of the Far East State University’s role and potential is substantiated through the comparative analysis of the basic data among federal universities and the consolidation of the regional higher education institutions of higher education. The influence of the regional universities on innovative infrastructure, regional labor market is investigated on the example of Moscow Region’s universities. The data of the state statistical bodies and recruitment agencies are compared and correlated with the trends of students’ preparation in regional universities. It is derived from the research given that the brightest example of regional universities’ impact has become apparent in the area of the influence on labor market. The exact findings concerning possibilities and restrictions in the area of the regional universities’ influence on Moscow Region’s development have been made and the exact recommendations have been forwarded to strengthen them.
