The Pedagogical Views of L.N. Tolstoy and their Reflection in his Works for the School

The work of N.Avdeenko «The pedagogical views of L.N. Tolstoy and their reflection in his works for the school» consists of the introduction, three chapters of the main body, the conclusion, and the bibliography. The objective of the work is to define the pedagogical views of L.N. Tolstoy that were reflected in his publicistic writings of 1860-s and in his fiction stories of 1870-s written for the scholastic textbooks. In the first chapter the short history extract about Tolstoy’s teaching activity is given, since his first attempts of being a teacher for peasant children in 1849 till the publishing of «The Russian textbooks» in 1875. In the second chapter different components of Tolstoy’s pedagogical ideology are clarified through the research of his publicistic writings and theoretical works of different literary critics. In the third chapter the stories from the four Russian textbooks are reviewed from the point of view of their definitions given by Tolstoy, which are the fable, the true story, the argument, the description, the narrative.
