Irina Yudina. The Image of a City in Boris Pasternak’s Poetry The present study is dedicated to the Image of a City, created by Boris Pasternak in his poetry. This work aims to describe a City as an object which occupies a special place in Boris Pasternak’s poetic world. We examined the structure and characteristics not only of the whole object, but also of its components; their functions in Pasternak’s poetic world; some particular features of their interaction with other objects of this world. All the Pasternak’s poetic heritage has been analyzed while preparing this work. Linguistic methods were mainly used in this study, such as analyzing poetic vocabulary, syntactic structures, and special semantic features formed by those. The result of the study is the description of a City in Boris Pasternak’s poetry as an entity with a special structure and characteristics.
