Eastern Orthodox Christianity during the period of the Crusades XI - XIII centuries attracts the small number of researchers. Nevertheless the Christian East is one of parts of Byzantine civilization. The orthodox community’s situation was unstable, during this period, because a plenty of things depended on political factors in the Middle East. On the one hand, Orthodox Christians clashed with oppressions and persecutions in Muslim states but, on the other hand, communities had political and religious were supported by Constantinople. During the conflict between the East and the West followers of different Christian church attempted to retain their autonomy and it was the point that contributed to the preservation of their unique culture in the Levant.
