The Concept of the sacred and the profane in the traditional and in modern Western esotericism differs. In traditional religions there is a clear distinction between the sacred and the profane worlds, while in modern Western esotericism the most common is the opinion, according to which the whole world is sacred, but the majority that can be roughly described such a term as profans, is unable or unwilling to understand the sacredness of the world. WRC will be devoted to the comparison of both concepts. The relevance of the conducted research: Currently there is growing interest in all kinds of esoteric teachings, spirituality is beginning to influence the culture, moreover, certain practices, previously known only in esoteric circles, become available to the public (Tarot cards) and even become a tradition of certain peoples and countries (an example is the massive fascination with Kabbalah in Israel). It is interesting to analyze the concept of the sacral and the profane in modern esoteric teachings and compare it with the concept of them in the traditionalism in order to understand if esoterism influences modern culture and ideas about religion, and, if so, how it modifies them. The study of esoterism is conducted on the example of the order of the Golden Dawn, theosophists and antroposophists as these esoteric teachings are well known and have influenced many esoteric traditions. My research can be called interdisciplinary because I use cultural studies approaching to the study of religious material.
