The verdict is a final judicial act, which is made based on the consideration of the criminal case by the trial court. The increased requirements are imposed to this act as the quality of the verdict is connected to the credibility of the judicial power and the level of trust of the people to it.

 This research paper examines the main and most actual problems related to sentencing process. The research is based on the study of scientific monographs and articles where topical issues of the sentencing process are considered, and the court practice to analyze the reasons for the cancellation of this final act in the courts of higher instances.
