Strategies for Ensuring Competitiveness of Countries in Global Value Chains
Nowadays, the importance of global value chains for sustainable growth and development can be hardly overestimated. The willingness to stay competitive in the environment when it is crucial to perform better in a particular task rather than to simply produce a high-quality product is becoming an integral part of long-term strategies of both countries and multinational enterprises. Therefore, in our research we have identified those competition strategies and outlined their influence on the position of countries in the system of international trade and cooperation. Besides, different models of participation in global value chains were analysed (USA, Germany, China) and some recommendations were made to foster the development of a fragmented production systems on the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union. In conclusion, we prove the hypothesis that the country level of competitiveness within global value chains could be effectively exogenously managed.
