Thе research is devoted to the analysis of Russian-Latin American relations starting from 2014, when the geopolitical confrontation between Russia and the «collective West» started. The notion «collective West» in the paper refers to the countries which imposed sanctions on Russia in 2014 because of the Russian actions toward Ukraine. The paper focuses on Russia's relations with Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua because the relations of the Russian Federation with these countries can be described as strategic partnership de jure or de facto. The research is based on the monographs and articles by such authors as P.A. Tsygankov, V.M. Davydov, A.V. Savelyeva, P.P. Yakovlev, A. Sanchez, and others. As a result of the research it has been proved that after 2014 Russia's relations with these countries have expanded and strengthened in the diplomatic and economic spheres. Russia increases its presence in the Latin American countries in nonfood areas, while Latin American countries have increased their presence in the Russian food market. Key words: Russian-Latin American relations, confrontation with the West, Crimean crisis, food embargo, sanctions, strategic partnership.
