The countries of the European Union are important participants of the global arms trade. However, the challenges of the modern European military-industrial complex (MIC) undermine their positions on the international arms market. However, integration of the EU MICs could deal with the problems which the European defense industry faces nowadays. The EU supranational institutions should play a more important role in the defense industry cooperation.
