The Evolution of Current Russian-EU Relations

Russia has been closely culturally, economically and socially connected with many European countries throughout its long history. The Russian Empire, then the Soviet Union and Russia has been playing a huge role in the European security system. In turn, many modern states of the European Union, namely Germany, France, Britain are cooperating with Russia on numerous number of issues in various fields. In spite of close interdependence between the EU and the Russian Federation, there is also a huge amount of discussion to address specific crises (such as the Syrian and Ukrainian crises). Political and economic projects of two actors of the modern system of international relations have been coming into collision that does not allow effectively develop constructive connections. The problem of this study is to find out the answer to this question; Can disputes between the EU and the Russian Federation "harm" substantially close political and economic relations? The purpose of this study is to determine the vector of further development of bilateral relations. This study has the novelty, while the EU and Russia are facing lots of political and economic crises nowadays and the cooperation is necessary for both the EU and Russia so as to reach peace on this world.
