The Сomparison of Rating Scales for Financial Institutions

The main object of study was global systematical-important financial institutions (G-SIIBs) and its assignance to the credit ratings. The statistical data has collected extensive on it, according to the classification of the Financial Stability Board (FSB) and there were designed six types of financial institutions, which have been allocated in 67 countries. Assigning their credit ratings were examined by VPRS-model - the findings have been described in the third chapter, it was received and evaluated the functional dependence of the sixth degree polynomials for the gradation distribution of credit rating scales, and performed a visual rendering credit rating sets. In this paper were used two methods of comparison of credit rating scales. The first method was based on the classical approach using multiple mapping on the bias-scale of minimizing the integral distance between the grades of rating scales for different credit rating agencies. Also by the statistical monitoring, was collected and recorded a big number of splits of the credit ratings of various financial institutions in different countries. The analysis of collected data has shown the gradation distribution splits in the credit ratings of each rating agency of the big three. Existing quantitative description clearly indicates that most of the credit ratings is assigned by the Moody's I.S. agency, second by S & P agency, the third by Fitch R.S. agency.
