The Role of ASEAN in International Cooperation on Security Issues in Asia-Pacific

This paper present the analysis of security issues existing is Asia-Pacific region with an emphasis on the role of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in terms of international cooperation. In terms of globalization security issues become crucial for every region and Asia-Pacific is not an exception. Several organizations which have a function to address security issues of the region exists in Asia-Pacific and in this regard the importance of ASEAN participation comes into a question. Within the framework of neoliberalism as a theory of international relations analysis of the multilateral negotiation system on security issues is conducted. The results show the high extent of inclusiveness of ASEAN in regulative processes of the region.
