ASEAN Community in Russia`s Priorities and Policy

One of the most urgent issues on the agenda of Russia’s foreign policy is diversification of its external relations. A number of profound changes in modern international relations and the geopolitical situation encouraged Russia to make a so-called “turn to the East”, where South-East Asia is one of the most attractive investment platforms. Currently, ASEAN in the main integration grouping in Asia-Pacific Region, a creator of a number of mechanisms for regional development and a founder of various institutions of multilateral diplomacy. The year 2015 was an important date for ASEAN because of the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community. Economic Community is an ambitious project aimed at completing economic integration in the region and promoting the region on the global stage. This research provided an analysis of the influence of the ASEAN Economic Community on collaboration between Russia and ASEAN.
