Development of Trade and Economic Cooperation Between Russia and Argentina: Current State and Basic Problems

This paper discusses the various forms and directions of Russian-Argentine trade and economic cooperation. The relevance of this topic is based on the activation of cooperation in recent years, the significance of the Argentine economy for Russia, as one of the most important partners in Latin America, the need to find new trading partners due to the imposed sanctions against Russia, but also because of a possible change of direction of Argentine foreign policy in the near future. Our research is based on the review of academic studies that analyze the factors affecting the volume of trade between the two countries and the overall development of the economy. A number of hypotheses are put forward on the basis of academic studies. In order to test these hypotheses an analysis of data and a series of tests will be conducted as a part of the verification procedure of cause-and-effect link. As a result, this study will help to determine the right direction for further development of cooperation between the states.
