Merger and acquisition market is evolving very quickly. It influences other markets and the whole economy. To be successful companies today should be parties of M&A deals. But, ultimately, the overwhelming majority of them fail. Thus, they should be aware of all drivers involved in M&A activity. We discuss the possibility to assess synergy effects and efficiency of each deal. Today exists a lot of models, which companies use to ensure that the future deal will be successful. Nevertheless, it does not help to take the right decision. We assume that it happens because companies do not differentiate the drivers that arise during crises from those that are important during business boom. But takeovers occur in cycle and all companies should take that into account. So, the main aim of this paper is to understand how crises influence M&A market and to deepen new model of M&A assessment with due consideration of changes during crisis.
