The EU and the US have the most profound bilateral trade relations. The Transatlantic trade and investment partnership, for which negotiations were initiated in 2013, will have a potential impact not only on the economic cooperation between the EU and the US, but also in the sphere of science and technology by improving access for companies of partner countries, increasing investment and reducing non-tariff barriers in trade. This will facilitate the exchange of scientific and technological and innovative expertise and expand the number of joint EU-US projects.
