Statistical Analysis of Female Childlessness in Russia

In the present work the study of the female childlessness in Russia is introduced. The research works of russian and foreign scholars were considered. In the first part of the paper the investigation of the types and reasons of childlessness is carried out. Moreover some foreign research works that aim to investigate the factors that influence the childlessness the most are presented. The studies, reflecting differences in childlessness among men and women, urban and rural residents and different generations are introduced as well. In addition, this chapter presents the study of the influence of childlessness on human well-being. The second chapter is devoted to the analysis of trends of childlessness in the world and in Russia, including the USSR dynamics. The study of different countries and the characteristics of their childlessness is determined. The birth rate stimulus measures introduced by the Soviet government are described. This section also provides an overview of the current situation in Russia. The third chapter represents the study of time series, namely, forecasting childlessness in Russia the next 5 years with the ARMA and ARMAX models. These models help understand the dynamics and the degree of influence of the regressors considered. The final part of the paper presents the results of the study.
