The European Union was created as an economic project, so it doesn’t have a number of important political functions. As a consequence, it cannot carry out independent actions to promptly solve the emerging European problems in the conditions of the migration crisis. In this work we analyzed the characteristics of the current immigration crisis and revealed its constructive function. Thus, we conclude that the crisis has become a factor that can lead the process of integration to a new level and lead to the creation of the Common European Border Guard Service.
