Analysis of Factors Affecting Profitability of Mutual Funds in Different Countries

Mutual funds are one of the most popular tools for investment for unskilled for in the modern world. Currently more than 33 trillion dollars is under under management of mutual funds, which is comparable to the GDP of the largest countries in the world. It is obvious that the study of the efficiency of mutual funds, as well as analysis of their profitability is an important and relevant issue. It is important to understand why some funds are effective and have high rates of return, while others do not. It is important to understand what is the difference between the industries of mutual funds in different countries and what tools do we have to analyze them. The main goal of this study is to analyze methods that are used to analyze mutual funds in different countries, as well as testing models in developed and emerging capital markets. In the beginning there will be a review of the industry of mutual funds and will review the literature on the subject. Then, results of testing different models will be presented.
