The Valuation of a Commercial Bank

Nowadays Russian banking system suffers from crisis and such events as bankruptcy of banks, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions are not uncommon. In addition, banks may want to improve financial health or sell assets with lack of liquidity. These operations need bank valuation, so topic of this work is actual. In these work approaches to bank valuation are considered. In addition, there is a valuation of Sberbank, the largest bank in Russia, with using methods of income and market approaches. Data for valuation is contained in annual balance sheet; report on financial results and performance in stock market. Results from different methods were compared and conclusions were made. This work may be useful for commercial banks top-management and for valuation companies.
