Factors Affecting the NBA Teams’ Economic Success

This research work is devoted to the analysis of the economic success of the National Basketball Association teams. In the current study, the club is considered from a business point of view, therefore, as the dependent variable, which determines the economic success of the club, performs its value. Field of study values of sports teams has only a few scientific papers, so this work will bring a new contribution to the study of the formation of the economic success of clubs. In this paper some regression specifications, taking into account the various effects. The performed econometric analysis has identified as significant variables that affect the value of such determinants as the costs of players, operating income, the percentage of club debt and the average price of a ticket. The estimated regression models showed a positive effect of price, income and expenses and the negative impact of the club's debt.
