This project proposal represents a study of the relation between social capital and sociocultural adaptation of migrants. Applying the concept of individual social capital among with a number of standardized methods invented by Berry to the migrants currently living in Russian Federation will allow to discover how the level of individual social capital influences the choice of acculturation strategy and how it affects sociocultural adaptation.

This paper consists of six sections: introduction, literature review, methodology, results anticipated, conclusion and bibliography.
