Regulation’s Peculiarities of Government Procurement in Regional Trade Agreements

Public procurement is an important segment of the national economy, according to WTO data, the average share of public procurement market in the volume of gross domestic product (GDP) is about 10-15%. The share of state procurement market in the GDP of developing countries and countries with economies in transition is 30-40%. Thus, the market of public procurement represents a great potential for the development of international trade, liberalization of this market will improve the transparency of public procurement, remove trade barriers between countries, as well as maximize the cost savings for the state and taxpayers.
