Economic Factors of Belonging to the Middle Class in Modern Russia

The middle class plays a central role in the political and economic development of all democracies. Around the world, the size of the middle class health care resources are considered as key factors in determining the speed and sustainability of economic development. The middle class is often lies at the heart of political movements and new consumption trends. Categories of the middle class is not so easy to determine. At the same time the label, as a rule, has been pegged to the families, the head of which was a specialist, manager or white collar. More recently, it became customary to define the middle class in terms of family income range, which implies a comfortable lifestyle, but not overly generous; in other words, a range that excludes the poor and vulnerable to poverty, as well as being at the top with the highest incomes. In this paper we will focus on the economic characteristics that are common to the middle class, but it is not included in the methodology for its determination.
