Reform of the Senat in 1801–1805 in the Destinies of G.R. Derzhavin and D.P. Troshhinskij

The research is devoted to examination of Alexander the I`s personnel policy towards the «party» of Catherine The Great`s «favorites» in the context of administrative reforms in the early 19th century. Reform of the Senate was a priority for the young emperor. In order to conduct the reform personnel changes became inevitable. Reconstruction of the main stages of the Senate reform discussion helped to reveal the technology of the emperor`s decisions. Analysis of the senate projects and submitted notes of the leaders of the conservatives – G.R.Derzhavin and D.P.Troshchinsky allowed to assess a role of Catherine`s «favorites» in the reform and their impact on the politics of Alexander the I and further institutional changes. Comparison of the trajectories of G.R.Derzhavin`s and D.P.Troshchinsky`s political careers and other conservatives – participants of the Senate reform 1801–1805 contributed the disclosure of general trends of Alexander the I`s personnel policy.
