The Peculiarities of Cultural and Media Practices in Brazil and Mexico

Despite the globality the modern world is very diverse. Each country, and sometimes a small region has its own specific features of prevailing rules and sustainable responses. It is impossible not to take into account these specifics producing media content or launching a media channel. It should be understood how these patterns are emerging. The purpose of this study is to identify the regularities between the original culture of Brazil and Mexico and media practices and media institutions developed on this basis. During the investigation methodological tools were defined on the basis of a theory of practice, the peculiarities of cultural and media practices were considered, the specificities of cultural and media practices of Brazil and Mexico were analyzed, the media institutions structure that have arisen as a consequence of found patterns were systematized. Brazil and Mexico have shown similar patterns in the formation of media practices: the popularity of Telenovelas, duopoly on the media market, the strong connection of the family and the media. In the analysis of the media and cultural practices a significant impact on media culture and a reverse impact have been found.
