Media Piracy and Digital Sales as Alternative Means of Musical Content Promotion in Russia

The thesis is dedicated to the research of practical aspects of musical media market functioning in the context of high level of media piracy. Author shows, that in Russian realities media piracy can act as an effective means of artists promotion. In case of making the accent on concert performances, certain groups of market participants can get real benefit from the media piracy. For other groups of artists a model of loss minimization is examined.
