City Administration in Moscow and London during World War II: Food Supply and Evacuation

In the Soviet Union cities were administrated differently. They were called “socialist” cities mainly because of its “socialist” city administration. This paper examines the peculiarities of Moscow as “socialist metropolis” in urban administration in comparison with London regarding the common challenges of World War II. This study will be guided by the following questions: what were the peculiarities of “socialist” city in a domain of public administration during the World War II?
