Working Capital Management in a Company

The theme of this graduation work is “Working capital management in a company”. The research is based on LLC “Transneft – Baltika” case. It is important to note that issue is closely connected to effective financial management in company. Russian and foreign firms experience high level of competition, and effective working capital management is extremely important as determinant of status and activities of the company. Consequently, it is essential for firms to improve working capital management. The aim of research is detection the extent of working capital’s influence on the effectiveness of LLC “Transneft – Baltika”. In first part we analyze the basics of working capital management. In second part there is a description of activities and work of “Transneft – Baltika”, organizational characteristics, analysis of financial position of company. In the last part econometric research is done, and the results are: the level of liquidity of assets, period of repayment of bills receivable and period of repayment of accounts payable, and also the size of company. In the process of work we used works of domestic and foreign researchers, financial reporting of LLC “Transneft – Baltika”, different databases.
