Ways of Developing Soundtracks for the Short Animated Film

The theme of this final qualifying work is " Ways of Developing Soundtracks for the Short Animated Film" This work may be interesting for future sound directors and directors of animated films, film critics, as well as those who are interested in the peculiarities of animated films. The aim of this work is to develop modern music and sound solutions for short animated film basing on the identified trends. To achieve the goal, the author has the following objectives: 1. Considering the dynamics of the sound development of the feature and animated films; 2. Displaying the basic concepts of sound and musical accompaniment; 3. Collecting and describing all the necessary materials of pre-production period; 4. Developing a sound and music solution for film, and illustrating it on the reference materials. The hypothesis of this work is the assumption that the sound and music play a leading role in shaping the imago of characters, their emotional world, as well as the frame of the atmosphere. In the first chapter the author speaks about the importance and role of sound design in film, emphasizing on previous experience of animation studios. Also in this chapter the basic terms, concepts and principles of sound design describes are described, which the author subsequently applied in the development of practical chapter. In the second chapter, the author gives a description of the developed project highlights, its features and the main stages of work on it. The result of the head becomes a description of the sound represented by the explication for animated film. The final result of the work is a sound explication for a short animated film, which was developed by the author in accordance with the latest trends in sound design of short animated films. It is displayed in the table in Appendix 4.
