Настоящее исследование посвящено тенденциям в развитии форм собственности на рынке российских СМИ в контексте мировой практики за последние три десятилетия. В работе дан подробный анализ трансформаций форм собственности в новой России, посткоммунистических странах и изменений редакционной политики изданий в зависимости от этого. Выявлены причины таких трансформаций. В работе большой акцент сделан на получивший в последнее время популярность неформальный характер давления на частные СМИ. Также рассматриваются тенденции последних лет, направленные на регулирование сетевых СМИ в России. Ключевые слова: средства массовой информации, собственность СМИ, теория прессы, самоцензура, новые медиа.
