Current research is dedicated to the problem of procrastination and its relation with self-esteem and self-efficacy. It is proven by various studies that procrastination should not be associated with laziness because of its highly negative impact. Procractination is connected with many negative traits such as stress, personal and situational anxiety, disordered self-control. The main hypothesis of this research is that self-esteem and self-efficacy can be predictors for procrastination. More specifically, low and unstable self-esteem, as well as low self-efficacy predict procrastinatory behavior. An empirical research has benn conducted to test the hypothesis. It consisted of two parts: a questionnaire and a homework task aimed at procrastination measurement. The results show that this type of procrastination measurement is not very effective. However, results of regression analysis of first part of the research show that low self-esteem and self-efficacy, as well as unstable self-esteem serve as predictors for procrastination indeed.
