The Improvement of Logistics Efficiency in Food Industry

The graduation work is about the improvement of logistics efficiency in food industry on the example of LLC "PK Baltika". The goal of the diploma paper is the analysis and definition directions to increase logistics efficiency on the food industry enterprise. The work consist of introduction, the main part and conclusion. The main part of diploma divided into three chapters. The author examines the theoretical basis of supply chain management in first chapter. The second chapter is devoted to logistics activity investigation on the LLC "PK Baltika". The author describe the supply chain analysis of the company. In the process of distribution system analysis of "PK Baltika" the author revealed the existence of significant volumes of expired products. Investigation of the causes of increasing the volume of expired products revealed the problem of lack of information in the interaction process of the supply chain. Much attention is given to way to improve the efficiency of logistics activity from the point of view of inventory management in the enterprise. This idea is covered in the third chapter of diploma paper. The author dwells on the interactions reengineering in the supply chain to solve identified problems. The author developed and presented three cases in third chapter to reduce inventory levels and prevent the emergence of expired products. There are «the alternative variant of goods movement calculation», «introduction of the everyday planning» and «warehouse area reduction calculation at the expense of reducing inventory». The author calculated the economic effect of the introduction of the proposed cases as the result. Moreover, the algorithm to improve the logistics system efficiency is presented in the diploma on the basis of the proposed measures for the particular company. This algorithm is recommended for testing and implementation on any enterprise of food industry. The graduation work contains: pages -103, figures - 12, table - 17, appendicies -2.
