Opinion polls clearly show the rise of English national identity in England. The main aim of the paper is to understand deep constructs which form the discourse of English national identity. The explanation of inner contradictions of the Englishness is based on the discourse analysis of deep interviews with the English youth. In result, we can say that the rise of English national identity could be seen as a reaction on the socio-political transformations in the UK. The author also evaluated the possibility of new Englishness to become politically significant.
