The present study is a valuable analysis of the doctrinal and political evolution of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. Under the doctrinal evolution in this study we understood the creation of new formal CSTO documents, the reasons for their adoption, their nature and meaning as well as the changes and amendments to the official documents of the CSTO, which were made and adopted during the organization's existence. Under the political evolution we understand changes in the actual activities of the CSTO (improvement of old and creation of new mechanisms and instruments intended to respond to crisis situations, carrying out different events, military exercises, summits, etc.). Moreover, the study analyzes the genesis of the organization, its features and problems and also raises the question of the CSTO effectiveness as a prospective international actor.
