Internet-Insurance as One of Perspective Direction of Electronic Commerce in Russia

This paper investigates a possibility of developing Internet-insurance in Russia. There are many researches on Internet-insurance conducted abroad, but in our country this trend is not fully reviewed. The majority of studies have focused on actual situation on the insurance market in other countries. The issue concerning e-insurance seems to be always the topic of current interests because e-services are considered as an engine of each economy. Theoretical background in this paper reveals the main characteristics of insurance through the Internet. The goal of this research is to determine the features of e-insurance in Russia and abroad. To do this it is necessary to identify the factors that affect the interest of the citizens and prevent effective development of electronic sales in Russia. Furthermore, an essential part of this research deals with developing practical recommendations for insurance companies which are aimed at increasing their sales through the Internet. The results of this paper can be used in further investigations of the Russian market of online-insurance. Keywords: insurance market, Internet services, online sales.
