The Application of Information Systems in Project Management by the Example of Sanofi-Aventis Group

The purpose of the graduation paper is to increase the effectiveness of data analysis in pharmaceutical company by the application of information-analytical system. The following tasks were solved to achieve the purpose: 1. Justification for the use of information-analytical systems in pharmaceutical industry. 2. Analysis of existing information systems that are used in the pharmaceutical market. 3. Choosing a platform for creating a data processing tool. 4. Creating a software application for data analysis. 5. Conducting experimental research on data analysis in implemented platform. The paper consists of introduction, three chapters and conclusion. In the introduction there is a relevance of the topic, the purpose and objectives of the research. The first chapter discloses the concept of IT-project, the need for applying information systems in pharmaceutical industry and describes the project, the problems and option for its solution. The second chapter reviews existing information systems that contain data about medicines sales and information-analytical systems used to improve the efficiency of data analysis. After that the choice of the system for further work is justified. The third chapter of the paper represents the project of implementing the selected information-analytical system. Algorithm of analytical application development is described, and the system configuration is examined. Further, there is the analysis of system implementation according to certain criteria. The conclusion provides an overview of results and completed tasks. It was established that the information-analytical system, obtained by applying QlikView platform for existing information system containing sales data and project reports, complies with all the requirements and improves the effectiveness of project performance analysis through the application of analytical instruments.
