Analysis of the Impact of the Project Implementation of IT Solutions to Achieve the Business Objectives of the Company

This graduate qualification work presents a methodology for the analysis of the impact of IT projects to achieve business goals, developed on the example of SAP ERP-system implementation project in one of the companies of Kazakhstan. The methodology based on framework for the governance and management of enterprise IT COBIT 5. The mathematical apparatus of analytic hierarchy process was used to obtain quantitative estimates. Based on the analysis of the company's strategy were identified business objectives of the company. Based on COBIT 5 was formed goals cascade as hierarchical view of the links between business goals, IT goals and objectives of the project implementation of information systems. There are several problems that need to be solved to measure the impact of the results of SAP ERP-system implementation project on the company's activities. First of all were prioritized company objectives. This problem was solved by the involvement of the group formed by business experts. Then was obtained the impact of IT goals to business goals, which was carried out based on recommendations of COBIT. The next step is to translate the effect of achieving the project objectives to the IT objectives of the company, which required the use of an expert group of IT specialists. The resulting matrix of pairwise comparisons have been processed using the AHP that allowed us to obtain the model of the impact of IT project on the company's activities. Thus, as a result of the work was developed and tested a methodical approach to the problem of assessing the impact of projects of implementing information systems on the business activities of company. This model represents the numeric value of the relationships between the aims of different levels.
