Development of Mobile Application of the Education Progress Control of National Research University Higher School of Economics Students

The demand for smartphones from day to day increases. Statistics shows that people from millennium generation in the range of age from 18 to 29 using smartphones compose almost 70%. Due to this fact, the idea of creation and development of the application for students of the Higher School of Economics has appeared. The presence of such an application is intended to ease the lives of students, it may enhance their educational process, and consequently, it is expected to lead to the increase of the Higher School of Economics University’s efficiency. The graduate work describes the functionality of the program, its interface and the practical value for students. The main purpose of the graduate paper is to define a user-friendly application for students of Higher School of Economics with the entire list of requirements to technical part of the application, to its interface and to functional modules. To achieve the main purpose of the graduate work the following objectives have been set: 1. To analyzes the existing learning management systems. 2. To research the characteristics of educational portals. 3. To carry out the poll among the students about the willingness to use the mobile application as an additional tool of the educational process. 4. To analyze the level of the Higher School of Economics automation on the basis of its own LMS system. 5. To establish and develop the requirements for mobile application based on the theoretical part of the graduate work. At the time writing the graduate work the theoretical methods, such as analysis and research of the specific scientific literature, and practical ones, as the development of a prototype application MyHSE, have been used. As a result of the research the system of the requirements for technical equipment, also for the interface has been developed. Additionally the functionality of the application as well as the appearance of the application for iOS users have been described.
