RBC (Risk-Based Capital) Tool Usage in the Capital Insurance Institutions

This graduation project deals with the solvency analysis of insurance companies, especially, Risk-Based Capital Instrument. Insurance is a type of economic relationships that is constantly evolving, adapting to rapidly changing conditions. Every year the volume of services provided by insurance companies is increasing significantly. The increase in the volume of issued insurance entails increase of risks, faced by company. Therefore, it is extremely important for companies, working in insurance sector, to have sufficient capital. The limitation of insurer insolvency risk has been a major goal of insurance regulators. The Risk-Based Capital methodology one of the tools for assessing the capital adequacy of the insurance company. The first part of the project gives details about the history and features of Risk-Based Capital Metodology. In the second part instrument was used for capital adequacy calculation for a group of global insurance companies. The third part gives an information about results of research. The graduation project consists of main part on 53 pages, including 6 figures,17 tables, the list of 32 references and 5 appendices.
