Business Informatics
(Bachelor’s programme)
2016
The aim of this research paper is to improve the efficiency of the trading enterprise (TE) management.

Therefore, both the model of functioning and the model of causality on the basis of the Petri net apparatus were constructed. The functional management scheme and the technological process of the situational management, as well as the problems that arise in the TE functioning process were described. A detailed depiction of a possible application of the situational approach to the management of a trading enterprise was given, and its usage was justified.

The application of key performance indicators as a means of describing enterprise functioning was defined; the implemented analyzer that uses these metrics to asses current situations was based on the data warehouse and was described with the use of the Moore finite-state machine. The classification problem was disclosed, and the structure of the module “Classifier” was implemented with the use of growing pyramidal networks.

This work also provides an illustration of the data warehouse scheme, designed in order to calculate the key performance indicators of a TE operation, along with the structure of the software application that was created with the aim of implementing the situational approach to management and demonstrating the logic and performance of the modules "Analyzer" and "Classifier".

Main practical results and scientific implications of this research paper include the necessity justification of the situational approach application to the management of a TE and its practical realization in the form of software that is able to reduce time expenditures on data analysis and decision-making.
