The Automation of Recruitment Process in Oil and Gas Company

In this research the recruitment process in an oil and gas company was reviewed and the problems in the process were identified. These problems determine the necessity of the process improvement by its automation. The purpose behind this research is to improve the recruitment process by the use of IT and to develop the recommendations for its automation in the oil and gas company. The following tasks were set for the purpose achievement – the analysis of the actual situation, the as-is and to-be model development, the development of the functional requirements for the information system and the development of the tuning recommendations for SAP E-Recruiting. SAP E-Recruiting is a solution on the basis of which the automation will be performed. The specification of the oil and gas company and the unified information system were described in order to achieve the purpose. The top-level model of the human resource management was designed. The background of the recruitment process was introduced to explain the necessity of the process automation. One part of the research results is the analysis of the existing knowledge in the investigated area. Another part is the author’s own contribution to the solution of the posed problems. The as-is and to-be models of the recruitment process, functional requirements for the automation of the recruitment process and tuning recommendations for SAP E-Recruiting are the main developments. The distinct feature of this research is its applied nature. The developed requirements and recommendations may be used by IT-specialists of oil and gas companies and IT-consultants during the automation of the recruitment process in SAP E-Recruiting.
